Daddy long legs

Arrow crabs are among the most abundant crustacean all over the Atlantic coast, and in particular in the Canary Islands shores. Its long legs let them hide near the long urchin spines avoiding the attack of fishes and other predators. During the mating season the male grab the female’s legs with its clamps avoiding its couple, which carries hundreds of eggs on the abdomen, to be impregnated by other males.
